George’s Tavern has become one of Arusha’s established international restaurants, combining Mediterranean character with the broad choice required of a city that welcomes travellers from around the world. It is a family-run restaurant created by chef-owner George Mavromoustakis, whose cooking combines traditional Greek flavours with favourite dishes from other international cuisines using ingredients available locally in Tanzania.

The extensive menu is one of its defining characteristics. Fresh seafood from the Indian Ocean and Lake Victoria sits alongside steaks, Greek lamb dishes, grilled pork, burgers, pizzas and kebabs.
