Singita Faru Faru Lodge

Grumeti Reserve

Tanzania

Overview

Singita Faru Faru Lodge offers a lighter, more contemporary expression of safari luxury within the Grumeti Reserve. Positioned alongside the Grumeti River and overlooking a busy watering hole, the lodge has been designed to connect guests continuously with the landscape. Large windows, open decks and airy interiors frame the wilderness throughout the day, making wildlife part of the experience even when guests are relaxing inside the property. (Singita)

Where Sasakwa draws inspiration from the elegance of an Edwardian manor, Faru Faru adopts a relaxed, organic style with contemporary African influences. Natural textures, neutral shades and large expanses of glass create a bright atmosphere, while decorative details reference the practicality and curiosity of a traditional botanist’s camp. The overall effect is sophisticated without feeling overly formal.

Accommodation is intimate, comprising seven one-bedroom suites, a family suite and a two-bedroom suite with its own private pool. The limited number of rooms reinforces the sense of privacy and allows the service to remain highly personalised. Suites are designed around the views, with large windows bringing natural light and surrounding vegetation directly into the interiors. (Singita)

Two swimming pools sit within the main lodge area, complemented by wellness and fitness facilities. Outdoor decks, quiet lounge areas, a café-style bar, firepit and flexible dining spaces provide numerous places to unwind between safari activities. Evenings can move effortlessly from drinks beside the pool to dinner under a vast African sky.

Safari remains at the centre of the experience. Guests can join twice-daily game drives, guided walks and birdwatching excursions or take a hot-air balloon flight over the wider Serengeti landscape. The reserve supports abundant plains game and predators, while the annual movement of wildebeest through the ecosystem provides one of nature’s most extraordinary spectacles.

Faru Faru also offers a broad selection of experiences beyond traditional game viewing. Yoga, fitness sessions, wine experiences, community visits and conservation-focused activities allow guests to engage with the region from different perspectives. Families are welcome, with activities adapted according to age and interests. (Singita)

The lodge’s position within the privately managed Singita Grumeti Reserve further enhances its appeal. Wildlife conservation and habitat restoration form a major part of the wider operation, allowing the tourism experience to support long-term protection of the Serengeti ecosystem.

For travellers who appreciate modern architecture, relaxed elegance and a close relationship with nature, Singita Faru Faru Lodge is one of mainland Tanzania’s most compelling luxury properties. It delivers an exceptional safari without the formality sometimes associated with ultra-luxury lodges, making the wilderness itself the defining feature of the experience.
